Engineering Specialist II
## Description
As an Engineering Specialist II with Diebold Nixdorf, you will be expected to use your skills in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or software engineering technologies with supervisor typically selecting techniques and procedures being used for the projects. You will perform routine engineering technology assignments assisting the product support or product development process and assignments could involve teams with all engineering disciplines including electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and software engineering. Your assignments tend to rely on knowledge obtained through practical on-the-job experience in specific engineering technologies. You will need to use problem resolution and solutions in support of products to gather information, identification of problems, and coordination of the resolution and closure of the problem.
Specific assignments may involve one or more of the following:
* Evaluate purchased items.
* Perform tests to evaluate the design of products or portions of products.
* Document the results of tests and evaluations.
* Review available information to determine the need for design changes.
* Use formal problem solving techniques to identify root causes of problems and to verify solutions.
* Capture and document the designs of product using computer aided engineering tools.
* Develop test equipment and test procedures for evaluating specific items.
* Adapt existing designs to satisfy specific requirements.
* Select software and hardware tools to support the engineering processes.
* Perform specific detail product design responsibilities.
* Perform specific design modifications to comply with current conditions.
* Prepare and process engineering changes.
* Use hands-on approach for building and evaluation prototypes.
* Support manufacturing and service organization needs in area of responsibility.
* Provide product support for responsible products.
## Qualifications
* Associate degree in engineering technology including electronics, mechanical, or software engineering technology.
* Bachelor of Science in engineering technology preferred.
* 3-5 years applicable experience required.
* Initiative, attention to detail, problem solving skills, teamwork skills, communication skills, organizational skills.
* Specialized skills typically developed through practical experience in an engineering support position including technician or designer/drafter.
