TitleSenior Project Manager
Using existing knowledge and expertise of internal or external business issues, the senior project manager anticipates issues and problems, proactively defines risk management measures, and works to continually apply best practices for the improvement of overall
methodologies with minimal guidance.
o Contributes to the evolution and development of Swagelok project management methodologies and processes
o Solves complex problems, taking a new perspective on existing solutions
o Interprets customer needs, assessing requirements and identifying solutions to non-standard requests
o Explains difficult issues and works to build consensus
o Provides coaching and mentoring to other project managers
o Makes decisions within guidelines and policies
o Impacts a range of standard and non-standard customer, operational, process, project, or service activities
o Leads project or programs with significant resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity
o Develops budgets and manages costs and resources for large and complex projects
o Demonstrates a strong understanding of the products, systems, and processes within own functional area and a good understanding of those deployed across Swagelok Company
o Integrates best practices and thinking into tasks, work products, and processes
o May mentor and coach others about best practices and functional concepts
o Knows patterns and trends in data and selects from a range of problem solving techniques
o Consults with experts to solve advanced problems
o May lead the identification of patterns and trends in data
o Participates in the technical/professional community through industry groups, and/or professional affiliations
o Stays ahead of the curve on functional area trends, including product/technical advancements and environmental trends
o Demonstrates understanding of the competitive landscape and implications for the customer's experience
o Proactively interacts with colleagues/customers to solve problems, educate them on Swagelok functions and or business
o Balances a variety of ideas, experiences, and innovations with prudence and good judgment to develop significant improvements
o Recognizes interdependencies among products, processes, programs, and services and leverages them to the benefit of Swagelok
o Anticipates and initiates change, responding resourcefully and constructively to overcome barriers to change
o Actively maintains network of contacts across functional and geographic boundaries
o Recognizes and values collaboration and is able to effectively leverage different opinions and experiences to help solve problems and accomplish tasks
o College or university degree typically required or equivalent work experience that has provided 5+ years of leading large departmental or mid-size corporate projects
o PMP Certification preferred
o Has expert knowledge and insight of the theories, methodologies, practices, and procedures related to project and risk management
o Fully capable of understanding and analyzing data trends
o Expert awareness of industries served and product applications
o Fully capable of performing effectively with limited supervision
o Physical requirements associated with normal office working environment.
o Ability to operate standard office equipment.
o Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
